First Visit
House on Red Corner · 2006-02-28
I had the initial visit at the gym this morning. The Trainer measured the fat on my arms (very little) and on my waist ( still not much) and my heart condition (not bad.) Then because I was there, I got on a treadmill for a little bit. My mind got all crazy and bounced around and I found it hard to let go. Then I rode the exercise bike for like five seconds, and I was about to leave but I thought, I’ll do some arm and chest machines for half an hour and then go to the Yoga class downstairs.
The Yoga class is one of the things that I really wanted to take regularly, that was until I took it. I am a very tight person. My muscles are tight, my mind is tight and my heart is very tight so going into this class was very hard for me to deal with. There were a couple of moments where I whited out and eventually I broke. I was prepared to leave, but the instructor was very gentle and got me to stay, saying that the hard stuff was nearly over. I was in the child’s pose crying while everybody else was all beautiful in their standing poses.
The floor poses were easier and I am glad I stayed. Afterwards the instructor complemented me for staying and thanked me for the work I did. Don’t let anyone fool you , it was work. I had to decide to accept myself for who I was right at that moment and that’s the hardest thing I’ve done all day long.
