it seems as if this is becoming a bit of a theme for me, as i search for newer and more fluid method of handling my calendars and todos. recently, i shifted my strategy to being more webcentric with these things, and this gives me the comfort that no matter which computer i am using at the moment, i will be able to stay organized and on focus.

all of my events are now being stored on calendars at google, their calendars are in the .ics format which means i can subscribe to them with any of my calendar clients on the various machines which litter our livingroom. (I use Korganizer on linux and Sunbird on OS X.) What does bother me a bit is that neither one of the clients allow me to make additions or changes to the calendar for that i have to open my web browser and navigate to the calendar. there is hope that the google apis can be used and hacked to give me this capacity in the near future, this could be a legitimate itch!

since google calendars does not have the capacity to put todo tasks into them, i have been using another service called rememberthemilk or RTM. The organization behind RTM has a plugin which displays the tasks for today in your google calendar, awesome, plus it’s all in .ics format so my calendar/todo clinets locally can subscribe to them. once again, i do not have the capacity to make changes from within these clients, so it looks like that is the second part of my itch.

i do however, have the capacity to make additions and completions to both these things through YAWS(Yet Another Web Service) called imified this is a service which lets me send an Instant Message to these other services to make changes and completions, so in a round about manner i have a method of using my whole computer to keep me on track, still i want to slim things down and make my workflow very sleek so there will be some scratching at my itches. and if anybody knows how to make the second button on a pen tablet act like the right mouse button, please let me know.
