*[photo — not archived by Wayback]*the old lookaway.](/wordpress/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=11681)yesterday was just another day here in EckenrodeHouse, i mean really, just an average wednesday that was slightly less chilly than the preceeding tuesday. so i don’t know what all the fuss is about, unless you are referring to an anniversary of an even that happened two years ago. you know the end of a fifty hour ordeal that resulted in our household gaining a new roommate, and if you think that i am misusing that term then youcertainly do not know her very well at all. she may be only two, but she is so fiercely independent that it makes us wonder just who she takes after!
*[photo — not archived by Wayback]*i bought a cake](/wordpress/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=11684) from a jamaican bakery in the neighborhood and took it to the daycare, along with ten big balloons. then in the afternoon when all the kiddlywinks had woken from their naps and had food and were changed, i reappeared for a party. the workers at Auntie Sharon’s Daycare (not to be confused with my Aunt) had taped all the balloons just out of reach of the kids on the walls. They also covered the little table and had a party all ready for EJ and the kids.
*[photo — not archived by Wayback]*Notice the hats](/wordpress/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=11732) that were on everybody’s head, this was so funny to watch as we were not going to start until everyone of these toddlers was wearing a hat. As soon as one hat was on a head, another one came off and finally there was an impasse in the toddler’s unions that let the hats remain as they sat there looking at the sugar coated cake. Then we all sang a rousing version of Happy Birthday, hopefully the videotape of the party does not get distributed so far as to attract the attention of the RIAA and forcing us to pay for copyright infringement- but I digress.
*[photo — not archived by Wayback]*If you ever want to know fear, give 14 toddlers a lot of sugar and 10 balloons, then stand in the middle of them as they proceed to make war upon each other. Then the worst happened, my own daughter turned on me and lead the charge as all the balloons were used to bludgeon me. After a about an hour of partying, EJ and I left to go to the playground. As we were slightly underdressed we did not stay long. Then as we settled down at home to watch Blue's Clues we both passed out as we came off our sugar highs. Mommy laughed at the sight when she came home to see us both sound asleep at sixty-thirty pm!
