Oh dear!

House on Red Corner · 2008-02-12

Now days, whenever things are not going her way, our little tike will say, “Oh dear!” in a rather distressed tone of voice. This response is most frequently given to me when I firmy tell her that there will be no more telly.

We have been saving our spare change for a few months. When we got up here to Cambridge, it all went into a plastic tub. Today, The Bubster and I took all those coins to the grocery store and turn2ed them into cash. $52.26 to be exact. Then I turned that cash into a step stool, with a certain amount left over, for bubby to wash hands in the bathroom

She spent an hour getting used to uing it tonight; playing with the water from the sink. The running water encouraged her to use the bathroom, but then the running water did not encourage her to leave the running water while she was using the bathroom. So har pants were wet in more than one place.

I worked her into getting in the tub and playing with the water there. I gave her an empty water bottle to play with in the tub. You know the kind of bottle you get with water in it from the store. I left her to play while doing more stuff in the rest of the house. I went to check up on her after a few minutes, and she was doing fine.

Then when I had returned to my chores, she played and played and then got quiet.

I ran into the bathroom and discovered what was going on. She was still playing with the water bottle, but now it was full of poo. Well not full full, but all there was no other poo in the tub, it was all in the water bottle.

“Oh dear!”

I threw it out,  drained the tub and washed her off.  That was it for the bathroom fun, at least for today.
