*[photo — not archived by Wayback]*One of the items on the learning agenda is Civics. As we are currently dealing with Kindergarden and daily household trips at the same time, I have taken to plotting out paths to places in the city where will will run specific errands. I then print out the map with a list of stops and some branding for our school and let TheBubster follow along as I pedal the bakfiets to the destinations. At the end of the trip, we can put this document in the binder where we keep all the schoolwork records. The objective of these lessons are not just map reading skills but also to provide basic connection to the city at large. There are other lessons we are covering in Civics that deal with State, Country and World but this is by far one of my favorite ways to deal with the Local level.
