The shifted perspectives in either side of the reader are intended to represent the transformation which occurs within the brain when it is consumed by the process of gathering information via the written word. The colors become more vivid and bold in the imaginarium created within the mind, events seem even more real than the place one is physically located. It is this phenomenon which allows anyone with the skill of reading to be transported to foreign lands and experience things which can be described as outside their own potentials. This can also open a person to far reaching possibilities which were previously thought unobtainable and demonstrate a path for turning these into realities.
The subject of this piece is a manual laborer who chose to spend his break reading a book. The location he is seated in is on the campus of Columbia University.
