quiet strength

face the torment of what could be
one awful element after another you see
pressed forward by the weight of decision
now is the time for skillful incision
do you abandon the path more thorny
in place another which has its warning?
do you walk now, how i have travelled?
do you see how, this scowl unravelled?
no, you can not understand the pain
no matter how in depth i may explain
but know this, you who reads these words
no story of a greater struggle have i heard
than that of a loving father who finds he must
leave his children behind, how can he trust
that without his daily oversight
everything will turn out alright
this is the nature of a journey in faith
answers to prayers that they will be safe
