Whole Heart First
words fly,
between us, dripping
greasy spots of love potions
on the wings of songs
listened to
cuddled, in our pool
sweat staining our skin
letters scratched and soaking wood
walking back and forth
from here to there
on the backs of, in the trucks
the cars of the post
deliverying sentiments
needed
wanted
like the air or water and food
electronic beeps
ones and zeros
in long strings of glistening Fibonacci
encoded passions, hearts beating
yet, for just one moment, i think
of a day when an airplane landed
and into my arms
you fell
having thrown yourself
willingly into this life
whole heart first
and i there, lucky me, to catch you
to hold you
embrace you
again.
to kiss.
