I cancelled Wednesday
there’s no need to show up
forced effort is not needed
the mood just is not there
so I cancelled Wednesday
all the old treaties are gone
the slate is blank
do with it what you will
because I am not
the master of puppets
I am not the puller of strings
and I know that’s not what you need
even when you say that you want it
your eyes betray you
they need mercy
they need understanding
they need soft gentle loving
and this dance, this twist
this turn leads to a cul-de-sac
from which the current dies not flow
