burial ceremony of sorts
a sojourn or soliloquy
an afternoon for the symphony
grand expenditures an expedition
mourning noon and worshiping dusk
the trees are tombstones
withering in the shallows
high tide falling out
and the corporal body
dissolving into the foam
all the drops of blood
all the breathing and chants
all the sad exhaustion
celebrates the end of a career
no longer confined by flesh
the spirit soars with the stardust
from whence it originally came
